It all began with a single moment of compassion. One cold evening in Sohna, Shazia Parveen and Mohd Tosif spotted a severely injured dog lying by the roadside. Most people passed by, some even looked away—but not them. They stopped, carried the trembling animal into their vehicle, and took it to the nearest vet. That rescue didn’t just save a life—it awakened a mission.
What started as a personal act of kindness soon grew into a community-driven cause. More rescues followed. Friends joined in. Strangers offered help. And that passion eventually led to the founding of Hamdard Animal Welfare Foundation (HAWF)—a registered Section 8 NGO committed to helping the voiceless.
Since that first rescue, HAWF has treated hundreds of injured animals, built temporary shelters, installed auto-feeders across Sohna, and begun work on future initiatives like a pet blood bank and a full-scale rehabilitation center. But the heart of this movement remains the same: compassion in action.
This story proves that you don’t need a big budget or team to make an impact. You just need to care enough to act. A bowl of water, a call to a vet, sharing a rescue post—every small step matters.
If one rescue can spark a movement, imagine what we can do together.
